Stop being hypocrites! Wendy Shay tells FDA.
Ruff Town Records signee, Wendy Shay has questioned the credibility of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) for claiming to care about the safety of kids.
Few days back, Wendy Shay claimed to have lost an endorsement deal worth thousands of dollars with a foreign alcoholic beverages company.
In her statement, she claimed the FDA restricted her from advertising with the foreign alcoholic beverages company because the FDA made it known to her that Ghanaian celebrities can't advertise with foreign alcoholic beverages companies.
"I didn't know in GH Celebrities can't advertise for alcoholic beverages according to FDA", Wendy Shay stated in a post.
The FDA however in a post via Facebook said they had the Ghanaian kids at heart and since Wendy is a well-known personality, they can't risk using her to promote alcoholic beverages.
They also stated that kids idolize her which led them to place the ban on the advertisement.
Wendy Shay however seemed perturbed about the ban placed on her advertisement and took to her twitter page to tell the FDA a peace of her mind.
She questioned the credibility of the FDA stating that they endorse alcohol and make profit from it and later claim to protect kids.
She tweeted, "U endorse alcohol n make cash by approving it to be sold but claim to protect kids when a celeb wants to make cash by advertising it? Unfair! ... GH wake up".
Do you think the FDA is being unfair to Wendy Shay? Or do you think they did the right thing by placing the ban on her alcoholic advertisement?
